“We are closer to Ferrari,” Max Verstappen not entirely dissatisfied by RB-18’s performance

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen doesn’t seem his usual self in his revamped challenger, RB-18. The problems were evident ever since the race in Bahrain. The Dutchman couldn’t match the pace with Charles Leclerc as the steering looked to be stuck which made the car almost impossible to handle in the fast corners. It didn’t end there as he had to retire out of the race due to a suspected fuel pump issue.
The reigning world champion looked far better in Saudi Arabia as he secured his first win of the season after coming up trumps after an exhausting and enthralling battle with his nemesis, Charles Leclerc. Even though he won the race in Jeddah, he didn’t look entirely convincing. The Red Bull seemed to struggle in the slow corners but has looked a notch above the F1-75 on the straights.
Max Verstappen still has a gear or two left in him and might have to turn it on if he wants to get the better off the in form Charles Leclerc. We all know that Max Verstappen on his day can make Charles Leclerc look ordinary but with initial evidence in front of us, it’s safe to say that we don’t see that happening at the Australian GP. But with the circuit going through modifications, it could be tailor made for Max to regain his form.
Max Verstappen and Red Bull need to improve if they want to stay in the fight with Charles Leclerc and Ferrari

But the car slowly and steadily is getting better and it has to, if Max Verstappen wants to stand a chance against Charles Leclerc. Max Verstappen after the free practice session in Australia said, “During the first two practice sessions in Australia, it is clear that Ferrari is in good shape.”
“After some changes the car felt better and more stable after that, so that’s nice. Ferrari again seems very strong, but we are close.” As reported by gpblog.
Charles Leclerc has definitely posed a different sort of threat to Max Verstappen and it’s on him to find the answers. We all know that Max is not the one to back down from a fight. So, it’s going to be no holds barred at the Australian GP.
