Why George Russell believes he is a more rounded driver going into 2022

George Russell the former Williams and current Mercedes driver has recently admitted that his three-year spell at Williams has helped him a lot and today he considers himself a more rounded driver than he was back in the day.
It has been stated in the racingnews365 that George Russell believes his years of toiling at the back of the grid has made him a better driver as he is looking forward to downing the Mercedes colors for the 2022 Formula1 season. George Russell is taking the place of Valtteri Bottas at Mercedes who has joined Alfa Romeo on a multi-year deal.
George Russell while talking about his spell at Williams has said “I am grateful for the difficulties I’ve faced on the track and throughout these years.”
“Because, quite often, when you get in a faster car and a car that is more complete, things just naturally feel easier.”
George believes that his switch from Williams to Mercedes is going to be a smooth one in terms of the handling of the car. Throughout his three years at Williams, he was suffering from one thing or the other.
While talking about them he has said that “At Williams, we had so many limitations – whether it was trying to bet the tires in the right window, the brakes in the right window, following other cars has been incredibly difficult, [as has] really fighting in battles, and to hold onto positions.”
George Russell is eager for the start of the 2022 season
The Bahrain Grand Prix of the 2022 Formula1 season is going to be the first Grand Prix for George Russell as the official driver of Mercedes. The 2022 season will also be George’s first real opportunity at scoring regular points and race wins for the Brackley-based Mercedes Formula1 team.
Russell during his interview has admitted that he is very excited for the 2022 Formula1 season and is looking forward to driving for Mercedes during the new ear of Formula1. George is looking forward to understanding the racing and engineering side of things at Mercedes.
He’s said that “I am really excited to see the new cars and what they offer for everybody.”
George believes it is going to be very interesting to look at the development of the car during the 2022 season and feels it will be important to work in close coordination with everyone on the team, he has also mentioned the fact that they would have to do a lot of sim work to measure their progress.
George while talking about the competition has said “I am sure there will be some interesting designs out there and there might be some underdogs who prevail in the opening tests or races. It is whoever develops the fastest, whoever develops the best and to build those foundations for the coming years.”
George is very much invested in looking at the 2022 Formula1 season from an engineering perspective. He is quite right in doing so as they are the backbone of every motorsports team.
