‘Definitely didn’t seem fair,’ former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick on Lewis Hamilton losing the championship in a controversial manner

Lewis Hamilton, Danica Patrick
Fans all over the world were certainly not pleased with the way the Abu Dhabi GP ended on Sunday. The championship was decided by a controversial decision by the FIA, that allowed Max Verstappen to have to go at Lewis Hamilton in the final lap of the race, with a fresher set of tyres.
Former Nascar driver and one of America’s all-time greats, Danica Patrick was not pleased with the way the race ended, although it was exciting from a fan’s point of view. Danica has participated in 191 races over the course of 7 years, with 10 top-ten finishes and one pole.
Lewis Hamilton was denied his eighth championship title, whereas, Max Verstappen earned his first ever championship. The entire season came boiling down to the final lap, with the Dutchman reigning supreme.
Danica Patrick believes the result of Abu Dhabi GP was ‘unfair’

Lewis Hamilton was leading the Abu Dhabi GP by 11 seconds before the safety car was deployed due to an incident with Nicholas Latifi. Max Verstappen needed nothing short of a miracle to win the race, as he had to pass five cars in between the two contenders, and had to make up an 11-second deficit.
Danica Patrick believes that the way the race ended was very unfair, but it was very exciting to watch. She is not the only sportsperson to speak against FIA’s decision, because several stars have had their say.
We have not heard from Lewis Hamilton after his heartbreaking loss to Max Verstappen. However, we expect the Briton to come back even stronger in the 2022 season. The Mercedes driver is known for his fighting spirit, and will give it his all to reclaim back the championship.
