Fernando Alonso has become widely famous for the phrase, EL Plan. The Spaniard returned to the circuit this year after a two-year hiatus. The 40-year-old has a huge fan following in the F1 community, given that he has driven for legendary teams like Ferrari and McLaren. One of the things that has been doing the rounds this year is the word, EL Plan.
The so-called phrase, EL Plan came up abruptly during the season, as people started associating it with the Spanish driver, Fernando Alonso. The veteran driver himself revealed that he has no idea with regards to the origination of EL Plan.
In his latest Instagram story, Fernando Alonso posted a picture which saws ‘EL Plan’ being written several times on a blackboard. The phrase reads, ‘Alonso, we trust The Plan.’
Fernando Alonso looks forward to a better season in 2022
Fernando Alonso found his feet in the Alpine car after a rusty start to the season. However, once he settled into the car, he looked very comfortable and finished P10 in the individual championship.
Fernando Alonso claimed his first podium in Formula One since 2014, after he finished P3 at Qatar GP. The two-time champion has already set his set upon the 2022 season, and has asserted that next year will be better for the driver.
Speaking about the popular phrase, ‘EL Plan,‘ Fernando Alonso used it on the rear wing of his car for the final race in Abu Dhabi GP. It will be interesting to see how Alonso performs in 2022, given that a huge overhaul of changes is expected to be introduced from next season.
