Red Bull and Max Verstappen had once in a lifetime season, thanks to them outsmarting Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton, as Christian Horner claimed. The season had drama from the start till the end. And after what Christian Horner says was a tactic in Abu Dhabi, Max Verstappen went on to become the F1 world champion for the first time.

Over the few years in which Max has been with Red Bull, the driver has developed a good relationship with the team principal, Christian Horner. Horner has now praised Max Verstappen, the 24-year old, for not changing his attitude and behavior.

With the 2022 season approaching fast, the pressure falls on Max more than anyone else on the grid. The driver will have to be at his best to prove that his winning the 2021 season wasn’t just luck or any colluding.

Max Verstappen is known for his hard racing. The driver pushes the car to the limit to stay ahead of everyone. Even when his car is damaged, he drives to prove himself, as we saw in Hungary last season.

For his determination, Horner said to talkSPORT“He’s got that inner burning desire. He’s a real fighter. You know when you put him in the car, he’s going to give you 110 percent.

While speaking about how Max is outside of the car, the boss talked about his driver’s simplicity and hobbies. He said, “Outside the car, he’s just a normal lad. A nice guy that likes his sport, big into his football, and loves his gaming, too. He’s just a nice guy who doesn’t need a high-profile life and just loves what he does.”

And the highlight of his interview was Horner claiming that Max hasn’t changed a bit after the success of 2021. According to Horner, “No it’s not at all. He’s matured since he came to us as a 17-year-old, but he’s still very much the same guy with the same values. He’s great to work with.”

In the new era, Max has to adapt fast and improve exponentially. For the next season, Max has a challenge not against Lewis but also against the Ferraris and McLarens, as the old veterans are looking for a comeback in the new era. For this, it’ll be his “fighting spirit” as mentioned by Horner, which will help him reclaim the glory in 2022.
