Lando Norris
Lando Norris is rising rapidly to become one of the most known faces of F1, thanks to his immense social media presence and active online streaming and gaming presence. The driver is also now the third-highest earning driver on the grid, falling behind Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.
Lando started his career with the old horses of the sport, McLaren, and has signed with them till the end of the 2025 season. Before joining McLaren as the main driver, he was their junior driver in 2017 and officially their test and reserve driver in the 2018 season. So by the time his current contract expires, Lando Norris will complete the first nine years of his F1 career with the team.
Beginning of Lando Norris’ career
The 22-year old driver was born in Bristol, in a rich family, like most of the F1 drivers. Lando grew up in Glastonbury when his family moved to the area, so he could pursue his driving career. Lando got into Karting, thanks to his father and one of Bristol and the UK’s richest, Adam Norris. Lando’s father took him to watch a karting championship, which got him hooked to motorsport. Later, in 2013, Lando won the CIK-FIA Karting European Championship and the WSK Euro Series in the KFJ class. He carried on with his success and natural progression by winning in the MSA Formula championship in 2015 and the Toyota Racing Series, Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, and Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup in 2016. And made his way into F3 and F2, and eventually F1.
Lando Norris’ career in F2 and F1
Lando’s career was affluent, thanks to his excellent driving from his karting days. In his two years in F3, the driver had an exceptional first year and won the championship in the second year. And in his first full year in F2, he drove for Carlin racing and bagged the championship, when he already had the contract of McLaren’s test and reserve driver. His merit couldn’t keep him out of F1 for long, and the next year McLaren contracted him to be their full-time driver and partnered with the Spanish driver Carlos Sainz.
