Apart from the missile strike near the Jeddah track on Friday, a big hit had occurred on Saturday night which involved Mick Schumacher. The young Haas driver lost control of his car at turn-12 in high speed during Q2 for the Saudi Arabian GP, and hit the barrier in a hefty impact. He was soon air-lifted to the nearby hospital for precautionary checks.

Mick Schumacher was found to have suffered with no injuries after a through check-up but was ruled out of the Sunday GP. This 2022 season had started off on a great note for Mick, having a career best 11th place finish in Bahrain’s season opener which soon came as a set back in Saudi Arabian GP. But thanks to Haas’ improved form, the team is fighting for points after a long time in Formula One.

“I don’t think that he’ll lose confidence,” said Gunther Steiner who is optimistic in Schumacher and knows that his confidence would not have been knocked out after this crash. Gunther also believes that this year they a lot of added pressure in performing well and getting good results unlike the 2021 season where the team was consistent in being 19th and 20th.

Gunther then proceeds to talks about the added pressure which comes with the job as a Formula One driver and says, “It’s part of being an F1 driver. Dealing with pressure that’s any high-profile sport or management position, it’s like the pressure is on, and if you don’t like the pressure, go and do something else.” As reported by motorsport.

Mick Schumacher will be briefed about the crash and analyze the cause of the same, ensuring a dent isn’t made in his confidence and the following would also help in being the key to understand the incident.

Kevin Magnussen’s back-to-back top-10 finishes in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia have already given Haas more points than the previous two seasons combined. The team decided not to develop its 2021 car in order to focus entirely on the new regulations in 2022, which has benefited from a significant advancement with Ferrari’s power unit.

“And I think [we need to] compare the data with Kevin, and I haven’t compared the data. So did he try too hard? I don’t know what it was. Was the tyre not warm enough? We need to find out.” Said Gunther Steiner who understood the importance of comparing data and putting forth a tough competition given the opportunity this year.
