The wait has ended for Red Bull’s, Verstappen’s, and Perez’s fans. The team finally has unveiled their 2022 car-RB18 through a live stream from Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. The launch has received a tremendous response from Formula 1 fans all around the world, with roughly 300K fans watching it live on YouTube alone.

The launch of the new car has made Red Bull the second team to display their 2022 challenger. The stream featured Red Bull’s sponsor Oracle’s Chief Marketing Officer, Ariel Kelman, alongside the team principal Christian Horner, announcing Oracle as the new title sponsor for Red Bull.

Later, the stars of the dream team for Red Bull, the Dutch Max Verstappen, and Mexican Sergio Perez joined in for unveiling the new beast. The new car RB18 featured Max Verstappen’s new racing number #1. When asked what’s the thinking behind it, Max candidly replied, ” It looks better than 33 [Max’s former racing number].”

Red Bull’s chief, Christian Horner, getting closer to the car during the launch said, “This year’s car is a lot cleaner. There’s no all the added bits like last year. The concept of this car is to try and promote overtaking and close racing. It’s a new concept, it’s a new philosophy.”

Checo Perez believes that due to the regulations and changes in tires, there will be more close racing. He ended with, “So, very interesting with these new regulations.”

Max on being asked how different the new car is on the simulator, the Dutch replied, ” I haven’t really driven it too much. With these big tires to hit an apex in some tight corners is a bit more difficult. Driving feels like a bit less grip, but you will get used to that.”

Twitter reactions have erupted

The most exciting and biggest reaction has come from the rival- the Mercedes F1 team. With the new launches lined up for this month, Mercedes launching is one of the most anticipated.

It’s only a matter of time before we see the challengers practicing in Barcelona this month. Then we’ll have a closer look at not just the livery but also the car’s performance. Christian Horner affirmed that Red Bull’s challenge going into the 2022 season is definitely defending the title as they’ll adapt to the new and one of the biggest changes in regulations.
