The pre-season testing of the 2022 season has rejoiced the fans of Scuderia Ferrari. The F1-75, revealed in February by the team, has the attention and contention to be the champion from every fan of the sport.

On the first day in Bahrain, Ferrari drivers continued their pace. Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc finished 2nd and 3rd on the timesheet, respectively. And on the second day, now to no one’s surprise, the Spaniard Carlos Sainz topped the sheet. In the drivers’ press conference, Sainz shared his thoughts on the performance and porpoising, the solution for which he believes is working well and is in the right direction.

Heading into Barcelona in February, Ferrari were not favorites, but the performance in the Spanish city has certainly made them favorites for many. The drivers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz performed exceptionally well in the first round and have carried their mojo to Bahrain as well.

On being asked how much confidence has the first day of testing gave to Ferrari and the driver, Carlos Sain said, “Yes, but obviously not much. We still are going through our own plan. Going through things we wanna test before we go in for the race weekend.”

The driver further added a cautious tone to his thoughts saying, “It is very difficult to take conclusions in Bahrain, and even when you’re testing stuff, you’re interested in taking conclusions, it’s particularly challenging because the track keeps changing and keeps evolving every half an hour basically.”

Carlos was asked if he was enjoying the rapid development of the cars from the driving point of view. To which Sainz said, “For us, the main priority is to solve the issues that we have with the bouncing, just to make the car bit more consistent and bit more drivable more comfortable for the driver.”

“And obviously, you’ve seen that we’ve got a few upgrades on them let’s call them more than upgrades modifications to the floor to see if we can reduce the porpoising without affecting too much the performance and some are working most of them are going in their direction which shows that the thing is working well,” concluded Sainz.

The Spaniard and the team are one of the favorites on the grid to win a title. Many drivers and teams look impressed by their early signs and have welcomed a multi-side battle in the new season and era of F1.
