”My goal in life and racing has been achieved,” Max Verstappen feels relaxed after becoming the world champion

Max Verstappen became the F1 world champion in 2021 in a controversial fashion after an intense battle throughout the season with the Mercedes driver and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. And with him becoming the champion of the sport, the Dutch claims to be calmer, ”My goal in life and racing has been achieved and then you feel a lot calmer inside,” he said in a documentary, quoted by GP BLog.
Max Verstappen and his father and ex-F1 racer, Jos Verstappen, appearing in a documentary called ‘Verstappen – Lion Unleashed’ on the platform called Viaplay, share their state after Max won the championship with Red Bull. The duo was spotted together throughout the season.
The Dutch driver, after achieving the lifelong dream, would definitely be satisfied, but his hunger and effort haven’t changed, as claimed by his boss Christian Horner. Horner, earlier in an interview, had said, “He’s got that inner burning desire. He’s a real fighter. You know when you put him in the car, he’s going to give you 110 percent. He’s matured since he came to us as a 17-year-old, but he’s still very much the same guy with the same values. He’s great to work with.”
How do Max Verstappen and his dad feel after the championship win?

The driver fought hard till the final lap of the season against Lewis Hamilton last year. And his final lunge in Abu Dhabi got him the trophy that he had always dreamt of.
Max in the documentary says, “I’m a bit more relaxed now, and that’s probably a positive thing. Before, there was always that desire to win a championship. I really needed to. Now that I’ve achieved that, I can always look back on that. You can reflect a little better. I hope we can benefit from that during different situations in racing.”
His dad, who has been his biggest cheerleader and guide, says, “What Max says, it’s a bonus. Winning the world championship was the goal, and he succeeded. I think that also gives us rest. Otherwise, you have to constantly push yourself. Maybe you would have changed teams to achieve this, but I’m so happy that we managed to take that title with Red Bull. They gave Max a chance to get into F1, and now we can move on for a long time.”
While the fight for the 2021 championship may be over, the new season is just starting to heat up. After the controversial end to the last season, Lewis Hamilton would be going all-in again for the title, and Max will have to counter the behemoth which the British driver is.
