Formula One is planning to introduce several changes, in order to give fans a unique experience. Among several things shortlisted, F1 has already given the nod to three sprint races that will be held this season. The sprint races will be held in place of the qualifying session for three races. Moreover, several technical changes are slated to take place from 2022, which will lead to a level playing field.

Ross Brawn, who serves as managing director and technical director for Formula 1, revealed that they are currently looking into a plan to monitor the heart rate of the drivers and key personnel.

Interestingly, we are looking at monitoring the heart rates of the drivers and some of the key personnel,” said Brawn.

Because I know from experience that’s a fascinating piece of information. I used to get rigged up and sat on the pit wall doing nothing physical except trying to run the race and would hit 140 pulse rate. And as soon as the race stopped, that would just plummet down to my normal pulse rate in the 60s,” he added.

You could see when the chequered flag had fallen because my pulse rate would just drop dramatically, so it was something I loved and enjoyed immensely,” said the director.

During the opening four rounds of the season, it has largely been a battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. The latter has 94 points to his name in the opening four races, whereas, the former has 80 points, which includes P1 at the Imola GP. Ross Brawn stated that F1 is blessed with some serious talent, and tips Max Verstappen to clinch the championship, when Lewis Hamilton retires.

“I think Max Verstappen is the next one on the throne. Having said that, there are some brilliant drivers coming through like Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris,” said Brawn.

On British drivers I think it’s a toss-up between Lando Norris and George Russell. I wouldn’t like to say which of them is going to be the strongest,” he continued.
