This social media following has come to Lewis Hamilton’s aide in Saudi Arabia as one of the tweets made by a fire marshall, who has been posted for the duty on the Jeddah track, tweet atrociously against the British driver. A tweet, now deleted, read: I hope he has an accident like Roman accident in Bahrain. Roman here is translated from Arabic, which would mean the accident here referred to is the terrible crash of Romain Grosjean during the 2020 Bahrain GP.

The person had a picture of Max Verstappen as his display picture. Following which the screenshots of these tweets made circles on Twitter and Reddit. This alerted the concerned authorities, who fired the person in the picture.

Lewis is one of the most loved drivers on the grid. Any type of threat directed towards him or any other driver has to be addressed by the authorities, which includes this incident as well. While F1 seems to have fired the fire marshall, chances of someone like this on duty is high for which corrective measures should be in place.

Anyone having such strong hatred for a driver is a matter of grave concern. There’s no space for such views in F1. Hence, there have been calls for more extensive background checks of the people employed in a race.

Romain Grosjean had a terrible accident of 67 g during the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix, which caused him several injuries. The accident also forced the driver to take time off from racing, which he later continued in the IndyCar championship.
