Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams

It was a terrible weekend for the Mercedes team and Lewis Hamilton. Starting from P7 on the grid, Hamilton was struck behind the Alpha Tauri of Pierre Gasly for almost the whole race. Mercedes attempted an undercut over Gasly, but failed miserably and inturn lost positions to Sebastian Vettel and Sergio Perez.

Serena Williams and Lewis Hamilton have been friends for quite sometime and the tennis star even called Hamilton ‘The greatest driver ever’ recently. But to Hamilton’s dismay, he couldn’t put up a show for Williams and ended up with his worst performance this season. This P7 finish meant that he slips to the No.2 position in the driver’s championship, 4 points behind Verstappen.

Serena is scheduled to play the French Open next week and hence visited the neighboring country for a little break. She even spoke after the race about her love for the Grand Prix here and congratulated Max Verstappen for the win.
