“Stefano Domenicali is doing a brilliant job,” Toto Wolff praises F1’s CEO for ensuring a balance between the old and new venues

With Miami being the only American race in the calendar, a new one has been added. With that being said, Toto Wolff is happy with this decision. Formula 1 will be racing in Las Vegas from next season and the fans are nothing but excited. Las Vegas was featured in the Formula 1 calendar in 1982 and will be featured again in 2023 for the first time after 40 years.

The street circuit features 14 turns and it is 6.12 Km in length. The circuit starts in a disused parking lot which will be renovated in order to fulfill the requirements. The circuit will also be featuring the Las Vegas Strip, also known as Las Vegas Boulevard, which contains two straights with only a slight sweeping left. The Las Vegas Strip is 1.92 Km long and promises to give some intense on-track battles while the cars go past some of the most famous Casinos and Hotels in Las Vegas.

While some people might be of the opinion that the circuit should not be featured in the race calendar, Toto Wolff has something different to say. He believes that the CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, has done a great job to find the balance between racing at new exciting venues and maintaining the heritage the sport has in Europe. Not only that, Toto Wolff believes Stefano is trying to tap upon as many new audiences as he can while taking care of the financial situation.

When asked about the track selection,Toto Wolff said, “The truth is that I don’t think that most of the fans that are watching Formula 1 through TV or social media, they don’t really mind where we’re racing. It’s my opinion. Baku isn’t a traditional race, but it’s fantastic content. So, racing in those iconic places is important for the fans, for the local fans and you can see it [in Australia] – great audiences,” as per gpfans.com.

Racing at newer tracks is always exciting to watch as one doesn’t know what to expect from the weekend. The drivers may make some huge mistakes, teams might come up with amazing strategies, an underdog team may perform brilliantly, and a lot more. Well, we’ll have to wait until 2023 to witness the madness in Las Vegas.
