Lewis Hamilton has taken last year’s controversial defeat at the hands of Max Vertstappen in his stride and seems to be back with a spring in his stride. The seven time world champion has returned to Formula 1 with refreshed energy.

The former champion has behaved in the most professional manner even while gulping down a heartbreaking defeat in the last lap of a title deciding race. We don’t know how he did that but nevertheless he did that and hence, proving his mettle yet again.

But this cannot take anything away from Max Vertstappen and Red Bull. They had an opportunity presented to them and they grabbed it with both arms and capitalized it with utmost conviction.
We all can agree that a victory can always be pretty but it’s still a victory as long as it is legal and ethically sound. In that department, no one can raise a finger at Red Bull or Max Verstappen as he took full advantage of the period when the safety car was deployed.

He made a pit stop in the wake of that event with landing a knockout blow to the seven time world champion on the last lap. Even after that defeat, the first thing that Lewis Hamilton did after getting out of his car was to congratulate max showing the class of the man when he decide to behave in the same manner in disaster as triumph.

I have no issues with him. I don’t hold any grudges with anybody,” says Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton was asked in an interview regarding the whole saga.

He replied by saying, “This has nothing to do with Max, stressed the seven-time champion. Max did everything a driver would do given the opportunity he was given.”

“[I have] no issues with him. I don’t hold any grudges with anybody. I don’t think that is ever a good thing to carry around with you so I move forwards. I don’t dwell on the past and as I said before, I feel fresh, I feel centered and fully focused,” as reported by gpfans.

Both the drivers deserved it equally but it had to go someone’s way. It just so happened that the rub of the green went Verstappen’s way. But Lewis Hamilton did set an example for any rookie who is pursuing a career in Formula 1 or any other sport. He showed how important it is to accept defeat gracefully, work on yourself and get back in the ring to fight for honors again.
