F1 to discuss the future of Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, confirms Max Verstappen

The Weekend in Saudi Arabia was tough for F1 drivers and their team along with other staff and order the Jeddah track who were at disposal to make sure the races would run smoothly without any troubles. After a smoke had broken out during Friday’s practice race in one of the Aramco oil refineries around six miles from the circuit by a group of terrorists through a missile track, the tension on the track had increased.

There was panic all around and with many leaving the site, talks on continuing the practice session and race later on, on Sunday were going on. F1 decided to move ahead with the race weekend taking along necessary precautions along with the increase in security at all check posts. Although the race weekend went on smoothly without any interruptions, Max Verstappen stated that he along with the rest of the drivers will speak with F1 following a controversial weekend regarding the future of the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.

“About the race here, well, we had a lot of guarantees that of course, we would be safe,” said Verstappen upon racing on the Jeddah track after the missile attack. Various promises and “guarantees” made by the local authorities gave confidence to the drivers to get back on track and give in their best.

After the first win of the season in Jeddah Max Verstappen stands firm on speaking with F1 regarding the future of the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix and says, “I think after this weekend, all the drivers also together, we will speak with F1 and of course also the team bosses to see what’s happening for the future.”

Max Verstappen faces a problem with the tyre

“I was just trying to stay with Charles without hurting the tires too much because that was a bit my problem in the first stint, to see what would happen in the last 10 laps or 15 laps,” said Verstappen raising concerns regarding the medium tire compound. Max seemed to struggle with the medium compound tyres in the opening stint but was able to push following a Virtual Safety car and soon after changed to a hard compound.

Due to the Virtual Safety car, Max got a chance to cool down the tires a bit which helped him a lot in pushing and catching up to Charles in the later stages of the race. Max Verstappen was more than happy on the hard tire in general with degradation which helped him win the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.
