Red bull is back with the Behind the Charger cameras at the track for F1 testing and the first round of the 2022 Formula One Season. The video on the Oracle Red Bull racing YouTube page which holds over 1.22 million subscribers. Featuring Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, and Christian Horner along with the rest of the team. This “Behind the Charge” shows the team gearing up for the first of a record-breaking 23-race schedule.
This video includes the misfortunes of the Bahrain Grand Prix and also has a cameo of their test and reserve driver, Juri Vips. The young Estonian driver plays an important role in the development of the RB18 and is also currently competing in the Formula 2 championship, holding the third position. While he is seen mingling with the two Red bull drivers, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, Vips finds it hard to hide his admiration towards the Dutchman.
Glimpses from the 2021 championship-winning season are also played in the 18-minute video, which has been one of the most memorable moments of Red bull since Sebastian Vettel. The Dutchman talks about how the 2021 season changed him and says, “I try to enjoy everything a little more now instead of just having that focus on winning. That’s not to say I go to a race differently now, but I’m a little more concerned with having a good relationship with Checo [Perez] and the rest of the team and having a good time.”
Red Bull reaction towards the end of Bahrain Grand Prix
Max Verstappen expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation with Sergio Perez also crashing out in the final laps of the race. Second place would have been a good result for the world champion, who had issues throughout the race. Even more so, the Dutchman’s crash was a disappointment for everyone.
But Red Bull, on the other hand, is not easily deterred, and the Dutchman claims that the team spirit is excellent. The team is hoping to solve all problems before the Saudi Arabian race and aims to achieve a good result. “We are really a close team. That’s great. If we can help each other, we will. It doesn’t matter in what way. Not many teams have that.” said Max Verstappen.
