Epic Games’ Battle Royale new season has finally arrived with a bang earlier today, with an impressive trailer as well as a new theme to cope up with. The live event of Operation Skyfire has already taken place yesterday for the current season to tie up loose ends in this season’s storyline that made way for a brand new storyline. With the release of the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 trailer, players can expect major map changes, an all-new Battle Pass, and more.
According to the official blog of Fortnite, after the crash of the mothership, the new season suffers from a gateway to the Sideways that has opened up, luring dark monsters and attacking players while low gravity and building restrictions make combat trickier. Players will now have to face the Sideways Zone, which will remain in place for the whole match with a regular supply of monsters and rifts with an anomaly.
Cubes might be the theme of the new season, so players have to face the Cube Monsters along with the difficulties of low gravity and no buildings to take cover in. The new temporary Sideways Anomaly will give players a limited time to defeat all of the fiends and brutes that attack them.
Along with new monsters, players will get the chance to open up sideways chests with rifles and miniguns. Bonus damage will be dealt if players manage to revive them to their superpowered state. The catch about upgrading weapons is that players can get better weapons by adding parts from defeated monsters to their existing guns. The Season 8 Battle Pass will reportedly feature turret stations and a black-white free-spirited version of Toona fish in terms of a Battle Pass skin.
