Astronomical Event, Fortnite’s in-game event dedicated to Travis Scott, had taken place in 2020. Epic had been setting the stage for the concert since long before the actual event with players witnessing a stage being constructed at the Sweaty Sands beach over the previous few days of the actual concert, which seemed to grow more complete as the days were passing.
Travis Scott had officially announced that he was to be present on a virtual tour, the Astronomical Event, via Fortnite in the last year on the 20th of April, and that he will release a new single. He had come together Ninja, a Fortnite streamer for the release of that party a year back.

Astronomical Event After-Party
Fortnite had featured its largest in-game concert, the Astronomical Event highlighting Travis Scott, a widely popular rapper who is known in the Fortnite community for his once or twice dabbles. The artist’s in-game show paved the way for drastic changes on the battlefield. The artist has long been a fan of the Fortnite video game, sometimes even playing it on Twitch streams — which makes his collaboration with the Epic Games studio a natural fit.
The event was a huge hit with a black stage on top of the water, and multiple golds, inflatable Travis Scott heads around it. During the opening song, a giant Scott stomped around the island, while players could run across the water to catch a glimpse.
Similar to this, last year’s Marshmello concert was a huge success; more than 10 million people attended, according to Epic, making it Fortnite’s largest-ever event. With multiple shows, a more elaborate performance, a bigger name performer, and a captive audience stuck inside with nothing to do, Travis Scott’s virtual tour has the potential to top that.
Fortnite is looking to stay relevant as it faces competition from several angles like Call of Duty recently launched a free Battle Royale game mode, while other games such as “Valorant” are garnering widespread interest. As the tracks changed, so did the visuals. At one point everything was fiery and Scott turned into a cyborg; later it looked like everyone had been transported to Tron.
When Highest in the Room came on, the crowd was submerged underwater, along with a giant spaceman. There were rollercoasters and psychedelic effects and in the end players were literally flying around the planet. Ninja, a Fortnite streaming star, and Travis Scott, a widely popular rapper, had also come together around three years ago for another event.

Although Ninja seemed to be enjoying the Travis Scott concert in his live stream, the streamer had attempted to retire from Fortnite multiple times on account of in-game toxicity. The aftermath of the collab keeps fans hoping Ninja will return to the platform once again.
