Frances Tiafoe happy to put himself back together
Although Frances Tiafoe was disappointed about losing to Jannik Sinner in the 2024 Cincinnati Open final, the 26-year-old was extremely happy with his campaign at the Masters 1000 event. He stated that he was happy with his effort after how the season has gone so far for him.
Tiafoe recalled his struggles with consistency and said that he was happy about the position he finds himself in now.
Insanely happy for the effort I had all week. It's been a really tough year. Since post-US Open honestly, since I made the quarters there last year, I've struggled to put matches together, taking the game for granted, not having much gratitude. [I] changed coaches, [was] trying to just figure myself out. [I am] in a great situation now, and to be able to make a final in a Masters series, a chance to win it, I couldn't be happier.Frances Tiafoe said while reflecting on his Cincinnati campaign (H/T: ATP Tour)
Tiafoe pulled off some incredible wins on his way to the Cincinnati final. He beat the 2024 Paris Olympics and Wimbledon semifinalist Lorenzo Musetti in the second round. He also took down Jiri Lehecka in an intense match in the third round, followed by a win over Holger Rune in the semifinals.
The American is now back in the Top 20 on the back of his impressive run in Cincinnati. He will now hope to replicate this performance at the US Open, where he will be hoping to mount a title challenge.
