Francis Ngannou’s frustration increases with each passing day
Francis Ngannou is a human machine, that can keep going on and on. Now, fighting just once in the last 16 months has made him restless and left him frustrated with the UFC and other fighters. What makes it even more frustrating according to Francis is that, the fight hardly lasted 20 seconds – the extirpation of Surinamese fighter Jairzinho “Bigi Boy” Rozenstruik at UFC 249.
For over a week, Francis has been expressing his displeasure of not fighting for an extended period of time. He initially tweeted saying that he would fight some day hopefully, with a disappointed emoji. Now 6 days later he has posted several tweets expressing his dissatisfaction, with one tweet directly aimed at current heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.
“I fought once for 20 seconds, this sucks” – Francis Ngannou
Francis Ngannou fought Stipe Miocic for the heavyweight title back in early 2018, which Francis eventually lost via unanimous decision. And, followed by another unanimous decision loss to Derrick Lewis which started sending his career into a downward spiral. But, a determined Francis came back stronger than ever and decimated all of his next 4 opponents via first round KO. Now, he is the number 1 contender for the heavyweight title once again.
Stipe, on the other hand has just successfully defended his heavyweight title against the now retired Daniel Cormier and there is no surprise that he wants his time off. Acknowledging this Francis posted a tweet saying, “Apparently Stipe is out until March. If I have to wait until then it’ll be almost another year between fights.“
The lamentation of the Cameroonian went on as he posted another tweet which read, “I fought once for 20 seconds in the last 16 months.#ThisIsSucks”
What do you make of this? Should the “Predator” wait till March and fight Stipe? Or fight another heavyweight in the meantime to avoid “ring rust”?
