The Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024 is to start in a few hours, but the preceding work to get to that is already underway. Most importantly, the torch relay, which leads to the lighting of the Olympic flame, is considered to be the start of the Summer Games.
The relay is often in the hands of personalities who signify unity, which is the motto of every Olympics. For fans lining up the streets of Paris, the presence of Snoop Dogg sent them into a frenzy.
The rapper is one among the thousands who have been carrying the torch. However, this is significantly the final leg. As he carried the torch through the streets, video captured show spectators going wild as they watched the multiple award-winning musical artist walk through the Saint-Denis neighborhood of Paris.
In one moment, one of the fans played one of his early hits, ‘Who am I’, through a portable speaker. Hearing this, the rapper broke into a vibe and swayed to the tune.
Fans could not stop themselves but click photos and videos of Snoop Dogg as he went through the streets. As one of the most popular artists in the world, it was natural for them to go wild. His music is popular in the European nation as was evident with many in the crowd singing along to the song.
Towards the end of the clip, he passes the flame to another fellow torch-bearer, all while still vibing to the song. Snoop Dogg has made it very evident through his social media posts that he is enjoying his time in the Paris Olympics and is looking forward to the opening ceremony.
Snoop Dogg hypes up USA Olympians in Paris
The rapper landed in Paris a few days ago. Initially, he went around the city, soaking in all things Olympics. But when the athletes from his home country of America started to land in the city, he was there to meet them. In one of the posts from Team USA basketball, the rapper was seen watching the 3×3 squads practice.
He also met the USA Gymnastics athletes, members of the Rugby Sevens team. He also met the entire fencing team and clicked photos with them. It seems Snoop Dogg will be the biggest cheerleader for all USA athletes in the Paris Olympics 2024.
For a person who has always cheered on in sports, it is a moment he will cherish forever. After all, this is his first full Olympics experience. The rapper is just getting started with the torch relay. He might be there until the end of the games.
