French Open 2020: After Rafael Nadal grilled McDonald, Burger King adds fuel to it


The French Open 2020 Round 2 was an easy match for Rafael Nadal. The Spaniard faced Mackenzie McDonald and thrashed him in straight sets 6-1, 6-0, 6-3.
The match was in much news as the opponent of Rafa had a unique and amusing name, McDonald. The American shared his last name with the famous fast food company McDonalds. Capitalising the opportunity, Burger King France also tweeted a witty remark.
Rafael Nadal hungry at French Open
Rafael Nadal is the second seed at the French Open 2020. He was tagged in the tweet as he grilled his opponent giving him a total of just 5 games over 3 sets. The American lost in a less than two hour battle. The victory was 95th Roland Garros win for Rafael Nadal.
The King of clay’s performance-inspired Burger King to take a dig at McDonald, also the name of their competitor in the market. It was undoubtedly a very smart marketing move. Rafa is on the way to clinch his 13th French Open and in through to round 3 at the Roland Garros.
