A mouth-watering contest is on the cards as 28th-seed Casper Ruud will lock horns with defending US Open champion and 3rd-seed Dominic Thiem in a 3rd Round encounter at the French Open 2020. Both the players are in tremendous form which certainly makes for an enthralling match.

Talking about the performance in the tournament so far, Ruud had an easy opening round match as he breezed past Yuichi Sugita in straight sets 6-1, 6-3, 6-1. However, in the next round, the 21-year-old Norwegian had to dig deep to overcome the challenge of Tommy Paul 6-1, 1-6, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 in a five-set thriller.

On the other hand, despite getting a tough opening round contest against former US Open champion Marin Cilic, Thiem showed that he is a Grand Slam champion for a reason. The 27-year-old Austrian first demolished Cilic in straight sets 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 and then hammered Jack Sock 6-1, 6-3, 7-6 in the next round.
