Williams has not won a Grandslam since her 2017 Australian Open title and would be looking to end her Grandslam drought at this year’s French Open. Kristie Ahn, like Serena Williams, makes her return to tennis after her first-round loss against the latter at the US Open 2020. She has not competed in any clay-court tournament prior to the French Open. Last year at the French Open, Ahn could not even make the main draw losing in the 1st qualifying round itself.
