Jannik Sinner vs. Novak Djokovic: Match Preview
Jannik Sinner began his season triumphing at the Australian Open and returned from his doping ban to reach the final of the Italian Open. He continued with his imperious form at the Roland Garros beating Arthur Rinderknech 6-4, 6-3, 7-5 in the first round. He followed it up with a straight sets win over Richard Gasquet, sending the Frenchman into retirement.
Sinner kept his foot on the pedal beating Jiri Lehecka 6-0, 6-1, 6-2 in the third round before hammering Andrey Rublev 6-1, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals. In the last eight, he faced Alexander Bublik and notched up another sublime victory 6-1, 7-5, 6-0 to reach back-to-back French Open semi-finals.

On the other hand, Djokovic suffered early losses at the Monte Carlo Masters and Madrid before bouncing back in style to win his 100th tour-level career title at the Geneva Open. The Serbian then started his Roland Garros campaign with a 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 win over Mackenzie McDonald. He continued with his form beating Corentin Moutet and Filip Misolic in straight sets to reach the fourth round.
Against Cameron Norrie in the round of 16, he claimed a 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 win to face last year’s runners-up Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals. The Serbian found himself behind against the World No.3 after losing the first set, but rallied back into the match to claim a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 victory at the Court Philippe-Chatrier.
Jannik Sinner vs. Novak Djokovic: Match Prediction
The tie will be the second clay-court meeting between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic. The latter claimed a 6-3, 6-4 win when they met at the 2021 Monte Carlo Masters. However, Sinner has won their last three meetings, with their head-to-head record tied 4-4. Also, Sinner defeated Djokovic in their last match 7-6(4), 6-3 at the 2024 Shanghai Masters final.

The pair have been dominant since the start of the Roland Garros and have stood out in the draw. However, so far, Djokovic’s triumph over Alexander Zverev will give him some confidence against Sinner. The Italian has not played any top 10 players at the tournament and has not been really threatened at the clay-court Grand Slam.
Nevertheless, he has only lost against Carlos Alcaraz twice in his last 37 matches, which gives him a solid boost ahead of his tie against Djokovic. But the Serbian has shown on several occasions in his career that he can’t be underestimated.
Match Prediction: Novak Djokovic to win in five sets.
