French tennis star Richard Gasquet has acknowledged the rivalry between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz as they prepare to take over from the ‘Big 3.’ However, the former US Open semifinalist believes the duo must achieve certain milestones to attain the legendary status of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Alcaraz and Sinner are currently among the biggest names in tennis, having won a combined total of seven Grand Slam titles. Federer retired from professional tennis in 2022, while Nadal bid farewell to the sport in October last year.

Alcaraz has something, but his aura isn’t yet at Federer’s level. It comes with age and track record, but it takes time to build that. Both Federer and Nadal are still among the biggest stars in the sport. Over the last 20 years, out of ten guys, you can mention them with Messi, Ronaldo, a few basketball players, Usain Bolt, but then there’s Nadal and Federer. Will we one day say Alcaraz and Sinner? Certainly, but it will take time. Tennis isn’t enough; there’s what you do outside of it, who you are, what you give off, the game, the technique… Federer, he had everything.

Richard Gasquet said in a podcast on UTS Tour

Alcaraz burst onto the scene in 2022 and became the youngest player in history to finish the season as World No. 1. He was also the second player outside the Big 3 to achieve this feat since 2004.

Sinner has made remarkable progress, becoming the first Italian to be crowned World No. 1 in June last year. Despite serving a three-month ban, he has maintained his top ranking. He is also the reigning champion of the Australian Open and the US Open.

This sale is a strategic decision for ASPEMIR as it continues to manage its investments. The company is led by Nadal’s mother, Ana María Parera. In recent years, ASPEMIR has seen strong financial growth. Its net assets grew from €237 million in 2022 to €341.4 million in 2023, an increase of 44%.

ASPEMIR is also expanding its investments in other areas. In February 2024, it increased its stake in Mabel Capital Global to 50%. Mabel Capital is a private investment firm. This move supports ASPEMIR’s goal of diversifying its portfolio.

The company is focusing on various industries. It is investing more in real estate, hospitality, and entertainment. By expanding in different sectors, ASPEMIR aims for long-term financial stability. These strategic investments strengthen its position in the market.

Roger Federer and wife, Mirka, go Alpine mode

Roger Federer retired from professional tennis at the Laver Cup in 2022. However, his life after tennis has been anything but quiet. He has been spotted at Formula 1 races, playing basketball at the Met Gala, and enjoying time at Disneyland. While Novak Djokovic is competing for the Miami Open title, Federer is enjoying a different kind of excitement.

The 43-year-old tennis legend has always loved skiing. He recently shared pictures from a trip to the Alpine mountains. He enjoyed the snowy adventure with his wife, Mirka, and their dog. Even in retirement, he continues to embrace his favorite traditions.

Federer’s love for skiing has led to memorable experiences. In 2024, he hit the slopes with skiing champion Lindsey Vonn. Vonn, a four-time World Cup winner, retired in 2019. Their meeting was not just for fun but also an inspiring moment between two sports legends.

Federer’s post-tennis life is filled with adventure and joy. He is exploring new experiences while staying connected to the sports world. Whether on the slopes or at major events, he continues to make unforgettable memories.
