Manchester United and Liverpool played out yet another 0-0 draw in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday to keep the Red Devils on top of the league for the meanwhile.

For all the hype it creates, the Liverpool- Manchester United fails to provide any substantial amount of quality football on display with both teams failing to click during crunch situations.

Paul Pogba had a big role to play in the draw with his late shot being saved by Allison. It has to be said that it was probably the most clear cut opportunity of the match and should’ve been put away with just the goalkeeper to beat.

Bruno Fernandes too missed a golden opportunity when he was presented with a tap in opportunity but hit it straight towards Allison. With the match drawn it means Liverpool will be staying at fourth position and with Manchester City beating Crystal Palace they are now second with a game in hand.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes that United need their world cup winner to provide a 3 month ‘cameo’ should Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s men have any chance at winning the title. Just a string of good performances could see United widen the gap and run away.

But the slim chance they have to win this league will depend on something like Paul Pogba delivering a cameo of two or three months of brilliance, which he is capable of.

He’s got confidence, he’s got arrogance – good arrogance, in a sense that he believes in himself. He thinks he should be playing in the biggest games in the world, and winning titles, and thinking positive thoughts, thinking you’re the best is a big thing when you’re looking to win.

Just in that last 20 minutes, I felt United just had that little bit of missing belief. It’s not a long way away, but that’s the bit that will stop them winning the title.
