The frustration got the better of Geno Smith near the end of the 49ers game on Thursday night. He was seen yelling at his Seahawks teammates for not playing at the standards of their earlier season form.
It was an uphill battle from the first whistle as the 49ers took a 16-3 lead at halftime. Brock Purdy increased the gap to 23 with a touchdown pass as the 49ers looked under complete control of the game.
The third quarter eventually ended 23-17, with the Seahawks adding 14 points. Till then, Smith’s only offensive contribution was setting up running back Kenneth Walker for a rushing touchdown.
The touchdown before that was actually a kick return from Laviska Shenault Jr. The game eventually ended with Purdy’s side winning 36-24.
The early season spark had completely evaporated from Geno Smith’s body language. He was seen yelling at his teammates for not being on the same page at the end of the game.

The skilled players can’t only be blamed for the Seahawks’ poor performance at Lumen Field. Smith should also shoulder the fair share of the blame because he threw two interceptions and almost turned the ball one more time, which registered as an incomplete pass.
A second video showed the 34-year-old hitting a Microsoft tablet on his head in anger shortly after his second pick to 49ers corner Renardo Green.

Geno Smith feels that the Seahawks shot themselves in the foot
Historically, the Seahawks won 29 games against their divisional rivals. However, the latest 49ers win means they have now won the fixture for the sixth straight time (Smith has never beaten the 49ers). Additionally, they have now lost three consecutive games so far in the season.
Smith ended the game with 30 of 52 for 312 yards 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. He did not hold back during the post-match press conference.
Smith wasn’t the only Seahawks player who experienced an acute slump. Star wide receiver DK Metcalf sat in complete silence after the referee canceled a touchdown. It was Metcalf’s fourth touchdown this season, which the officials have ruled out for various penalties.
Mike Macdonald’s team needs to quickly evaluate their mistakes; otherwise, the morale in the locker room will continue to die down. In week 7, they will face fellow NFC team the, Atlanta Falcons, who are one of the in-form sides in the conference.
