Tottenham Hotspur are in prime position to sign former Spurs player Gareth Bale, along with Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon. Ex- Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp has his say on the transfer of his former player and wants another former player, Luka Modric to follow Bale to London.
Do Spurs need Modric and Bale?
As Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is negotiating with Real Madrid over the transfer of Gareth Bale, Redknapp believes they should make an offer for Luka Modric as well. With Bale joining the attack of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Dele Alli, Spurs’ attacking options have definitely improved, however, Redknapp believes that they need a ball-playing midfielder who has the ability to seek out attackers and get some great assists, “I still feel they need somebody there; they’ve got the forward players, but they need somebody to supply the bullets. That’s where someone like Luka Modric can play killer passes, into great movement up front. They lack a player like that.” With Eriksen being sold to Inter Milan and Dele Alli not getting enough assists, Modric could really change the game for Spurs.
Redknapp also went on to talk about the Spurs’ attacking trio, “That is a scary forward line. I could see them playing Harry central and Son and Gareth coming off the line and playing. Really him and Son are two players who you’d just want to let go and play and do damage wherever they pop up on the pitch in any of those forward positions. It’s a bit like at Liverpool, like they do with their front three. They interchange positions fantastically well. And I think they’ll do the same at Tottenham.” The full video can found below:
There is no doubt that Mourinho could finally win some silverware for Spurs if Bale and Modric are both added to the line-up.
