After going on a five-game winning streak, the Milwaukee Bucks (10-9) are getting closer to the goal of becoming serious Eastern Conference contenders again. However, they still have ways to go. The Bucks played against the Washington Wizards in their most recent matchup. Notably, their star man Giannis Antetokounmpo swiftly returned to his side after missing the previous game due to injury.
Antetokounmpo did not disappoint his fans or the NBA community on his return. He dropped another masterclass to extend his side’s winning streak to 6-games. In a dominant performance against the Wizards, the Greek superstar dropped 42 points, gathered 12 rebounds, and provided 11 assists. He did that with 15/24 FG.
‘The Greek Freak’ also achieved a historic feat while producing such numbers during the game. With this particular performance, Antetokounmpo now ties with former NBA legends like Wilt Chamberlain in 30-point triple-doubles. He also tied with Michael Jordan in 35-point triple-doubles and ties with Magic Johnson in 40-point triple-doubles.

Also, without the team’s face and two-time MVP, the Bucks cannot hope to achieve any success. For an 82-game season, the team will undoubtedly want to keep an eye on his latest knee issue. Antetokounmpo may need to be preserved with a little care going forward into the 2024-25 NBA season. The Bucks will need to handle his minutes if they are to contend for the ECF this season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s teammate Damian Lillard also makes NBA history against Wizards
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokunmpo was not the only one recording historic feats against the Washington Wizards. His teammate and another Bucks star Damian Lillard also chimed in with his historic feat in the match. In NBA history, the All-Star point guard surpassed Nick Van Exel (5,777) to take 45th place on the all-time assists record.
In his first 27 minutes, Damian Lillard shot 7/14 from the field and 5/8 from three-point range, finishing with 21 points, five rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Avery Johnson (5,846) will be the next player that Lillard will look to pass after Van Exel.

Having shot 44.1% from the field and 34.8% from three-point range in his first 15 games, Lillard entered the game with averages of 26.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game. On the other hand, with a 10-9 record in 19 games, the Bucks are ranked sixth in the Eastern Conference. The Bucks will travel to Michigan on December 3 to play the Detroit Pistons after their matchup with the Wizards.
