Giannis Antetokounmpo misses last second free throw as Milwaukee Bucks lose 121-122 to Boston Celtics

Many a times when one reads the headlines, it reads as Giannis Antetokounmpo scoring the winner against all odds to hand over the victory to Milwaukee Bucks. But in their first encounter of the 2020-21 season, Jayson Tatum hits a clutch 3-pointer to hand over a crucial 2-point lead to the Boston Celtics with the just 0.4 seconds remaining in the last quarter. Celtics’ newly acquired Tristan Thompson handed over Giannis Antetokounmpo a chance to tie the game with a loose ball foul.
With Giannis hitting the first free throw, the score was 121-122, with one free throw remaining, Bucks only trailed by a point. But unfortunately for them, Giannis missed. Having said that, the contest could not have been better. With Giannis scoring 35 points in the game, Khris Middleton scored 27 points and lastly Jrue Holiday scored 25 points. The bench of the Bucks was disappointing as they registered only a combined 12 points.

With the young guns of the Celtics also blazed out on the scoring charts having led by Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum scoring 33 points and 30 points respectively. Jeff Teague also was handful for the Celtics, who came out from the bench to score 19 points for them included 4 baskets from behind the arc.
This was surely not a solo effort by Giannis. With Jrue and Middleton both producing their decent contributions in the game. But the Bucks have to dig deep to fill the missing spots as the 2020-21 season goes son. Talking about the next encounter for both these teams, Boston Celtics face one of the Eastern Conference’s giants Brooklyn Nets. Whereas for the Milwaukee Bucks, they play Stephen Curry and his Golden State Warriors in a couple of days.
