Joel Embiid single handily rules out Westbrook and Beal’s combined 50 points

As the Philadelphia 76ers took on Eastern Conference’s Washington Wizards in their opening encounter of the 2020-21 season. It was Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook combining together to score more than 50 points for the visitors. But the Philadelphia 76ers were not to be rules out of the contest as Joel Embiid single handily registers 29 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists to make his franchise win by a margin of 6 points.
The Philadelphia 7ers’ outscored the Wizards 24-40, with Shake Milton scoring 19 and Ben Simmons scoring 16 points as well. With the newly appointed LA Lakers players’ Danny Green and Dwight Howard both having a below average game. Even Seth Curry was able to dunk in 13 valuable points for the 76ers.
Joel Embiid scores 29 points against Washington Wizards
Embiid’s performance was even more crucial and important as it came at just the right time for the franchise to lift up their morale under new Head Coach Doc Rivers. With Simmons also playing a relatively decent first game, this should boost the momentum for the 76ers going into their next games in the season. 76ers trailed 83-73, heading into the final quarter. However, the newly formed duo of the Wizards’ was very impressive with having combined 52 points together for their franchise.
Although Westbrook was not able to score from behind the arc. But having combined with the Wizards’ roster so well, will give his coach and his teammates a lot of confidence playing around him for the rest of the season.
Lastly, talking about the next encounter for these teams, the Philadelphia 76ers will be scheduled to pay the New York Knicks. Whereas the Washington Wizards would face the Orlando Magic. But even after losing their first game, Wizards would be quite pleased to see Westbrook and Beal combining so well.
