Entering this offseason, Giannis Antetokounmpo had a lot running through his mind. He wants to win championships, but was unsure if staying with the Milwaukee Bucks would help him achieve that goal.
As soon as journalists and analysts caught wind of his state of conflict, trade rumors started to swirl around the superstar and his team. The Bucks did not want to part with their best player and did what they could to find players who could contribute.
Giannis Antetokounmpo also added some fuel to the fire when he was seen walking around Brooklyn with his wife and children. In the midst of all this, the former Defensive Player of the Year went back home to Greece and prepared to represent his adopted nation at EuroBasket 2025.
Antetokounmpo had a successful tournament, leading his national teammates to win the Bronze medal. Just days before the highest point of his life as a basketball player, his older brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, signed a 1-year deal with the Bucks.
Many felt that this signing was confirmation that the two-time league MVP would stay. Recently, it was revealed that the Greek Freak wanted to play for the New York Knicks.
Discussions between his current team and the Knicks did not bear fruit. What that revelation did was to conjure up rumors again of the possibility of the superstar leaving the team.
This irked some former greats, even though he reiterated his desire to play. Some believed he might leave before the trade deadline. Then the Bucks signed another player, which should see him stay.

They signed Alex Antetokounmpo to a two-way NBA deal. If anything, the franchise wants Giannis Antetokounmpo to stay, and this was their best way of assuring he does.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and his brothers set to create history
To ensure Giannis Antetokounmpo is comfortable with the Milwaukee Bucks, the franchise has kept his older brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, on the roster for quite some time.

Even though many have criticized the decision, arguing that nepotism was costing the team an option to sign a valuable player, they did not pay heed to those calls.
Now that they have signed Alex Antetokounmpo to a two-way contract, it is assured that he will be playing at some point alongside his two brothers. Already, they are creating history to be the first trio of brothers to sign for the same team.
If in a certain game, head coach Doc Rivers sends the youngest in while fielding the two older Greek stars, they would create history as the first trio to play together on an NBA court.
There is a limit of 50 games, after which a two-way player needs to be released. That might not be a problem for the Bucks, as they will not likely field their latest signing in that many games.
Myles Turner excited to play alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis Antetokounmpo took part in his first preseason game of this campaign. While playing 21 minutes, he racked up 13 points and 10 rebounds. Alongside him was offseason acquisition Myles Turner.
The Bucks signed the former Indiana Pacers star to give them a younger floor-stretching big man on the floor after deciding not to retain Brook Lopez‘s services. Turner is excited about his prospects playing alongside the Greece star.
Man, he ’bout change my life, man. It’s different. Being on the other side of it, it’s interesting. The mental warfare that goes into game-planning for someone like Giannis makes it so easy for guys around him. We got his back at the end as well.
Myles Turner said after the game

Turner will likely take time to learn and adjust to his new teammates. However, once Giannis Antetokounmpo and his teammates get going, this Bucks team might fight to go all the way to the championship game.
