With Giannis Antetokounmpo unable to play due to the calf strain he suffered during their home game against the Denver Nuggets, trade conversations surrounding him have surged.

Usually, injuries tend to dampen such negotiations, but in the Greek star’s situation, his demeanor during and before that game said more than what he could in words.

It was evident that the 31-year-old wants to leave, and was even courted by Rich Paul after Antetokounmpo apparently grew frustrated over his current agent.

The latter has been speaking to as many teams as possible, excepting the New York Knicks, who have been put off by the Bucks’ demands. Their recent struggles and how they end up this season may change matters, but for now, another couple of teams are known to be in the forefront.

Vero-Charles Adetokunbo, the mother of the two-time league MVP and his three other brothers, seems to be active on Facebook and posted a throwback picture of her son at Kaseya Center, home of the Miami Heat.

This seemingly sent social media into a frenzy, as it pointed at a potential trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Florida-based franchise.

The Heat, along with the Atlanta Hawks and the usual suspect Golden State Warriors, are rumored to be at the forefront of any discussions involving the Greek Freak, as he is affectionately known.

This photo now pours fuel onto those rumors, since many would see this as an indication that a deal might be close and would be announced over the next few days.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo have interest in teaming up

His current calf strain will keep Giannis Antetokounmpo out for at least a month. However, with the trade deadline in a few days, there is a chance that the former defensive player of the year might not return to play for the Milwaukee Bucks after he heals.

The Raptors are willing to part ways with anyone on the roster to get Antetokounmpo except for Brandon Ingramand Scottie Barnes, sources said. Meanwhile, Antetokounmpo and Miami star Bam Adebayo have the same agent, Alex Saratsis of Octagon. Antetokounmpo and Adebayo have spoken about playing together in South Beach, sources said.

Having the same agent in their corners means that there is a chance Antetokounmpo could team up with Bam Adebayo at the Miami Heat. After all, the 6′ 11″ star has the skills to complement the Paris Olympics gold medalist.

Now that this information is out there, along with his mother’s Facebook post, it is possible that the Heat could get in front of the line of teams looking to trade for the 2021 NBA champion.

Warriors could be at the forefront of Giannis Antetokounmpo negotiations

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo might want to team up at the Miami Heat. However, where he moves is ultimately something for the Milwaukee Bucks to decide.

If they are going to make a straight-up trade, you are looking at teams that can give the most opportunities. The Warriors that immediately rise to the top of the list… Everybody else is gonna have to try to beat a strong Golden State offer if it comes.

The longtime analyst and senior writer did not just throw the Warriors’ name out of habit. Rather, he listed out how the franchise has both young pieces and expiring contracts, both assets that can be used to trade with other teams for draft picks.

On top of that, the Warriors need a superstar after Jimmy Butler‘s season-ending injury. Then there is the prospect of playing alongside Stephen Curry, and Giannis Antetokounmpo might just be coaxed into agreeing to that.
