“If I’d said anything,” Goldberg claims he wrestled his entire second run in WWE with a torn rotator cuff, reveals why he didn’t tell anyone
The WWE Hall of Famer has divulged a staggering story about his recent WWE run.

When Goldberg returned to WWE in 2016, he was akin to the biggest attraction they had at that point. In his first match back, the former WCW Champion trounced Brock Lesnar in merely 90 seconds at Survivor Series. But little did anyone know, or not at all, that Bill tore his rotator cuff during the course of that bout. The 57-year-old made this revelation while speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight.
As a result, Goldberg started using his left shoulder to spear his counterparts. However, despite being in excruciating pain in the aftermath, he kept the injury close to his vest. The former Defensive Tackle refrained from making it public as he felt he’d be advised to undergo surgery, which he didn’t want as he thought Vince McMahon needed him the most at that juncture. So he just trucked through it.

The Icon said that even though he was able to wrestle matches, there used to be a spot of bother every now and then. He cited the horrific-looking Jackhammer he delivered to The Fiend at Super Showdown in 2020 as a result of what he was going through physically. Pain was an understatement, said the WWE Hall of Famer.
In pain, that's an understatement. I couldn't lift my arm for five or six years, but yet again it's one of those things where I chose to keep it to myself because if I'd said anything, god forbid I go to get surgery and Vince need me.Goldberg via Insight podcast
Even if he had told Vince about the tear he had in his rotator cuff, Goldberg thought he would’ve been asked to prematurely return whenever asked by McMahon to do so. That’s why Bill Goldberg didn’t care to tell anyone.
The former Universal Champion had his last WWE match against Roman Reigns. Da Man ended up losing it and was eventually done with the company. He later lashed out at Vince McMahon for never giving him a proper retirement match, despite having promised it earlier.
Goldberg comments on how he’s close with Bron Breakker
In the same interview as above, Goldberg was asked to comment on his close ties with Bron Breakker. The wrestling great recalled how he used to travel with Bron’s uncle and father, The Steiner Brothers, back in the day.

In that sense, there was already a sort of family relationship between them. Speaking of Breakker, Goldberg said he’s happy to see where he’s at right now. The former World Heavyweight Champion said Bron gets this business.
The Oklahoma native lauded the Steiner descendant for his explosive agility, which sets him apart from the rest of the field. The Unpredictable Bada*s is set to challenge Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. He would really want to capitalize on this opportunity.
