Who would’ve thought that footballing legend David Beckham and LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman would be involved together in any way? Football and golf definitely have two fairly different sports. There are many fans around the globe who would have sperate opinions on which sport is better, but this time two headliners have joined hands to sue a gym franchise.
While Beckham has been living his life quite lavishly after his retirement from an illustrious career spanning multiple decades, it’s certainly not the case with Greg Norman. Although money hasn’t been a problem for him though peace of mind definitely, he is muddled in a battle with the PGA Tour because of his association with Saudi-PIF-backed LIV Golf Circuit.
However, the two did sue the gym franchise F45 Training for a rather substantial sum – $20 million (£17.7m). They certified that the franchise has failed to make sponsorship payments to the duo that they had agreed upon earlier in terms of fiat and securities, preferably stock.

Quite the amount owed to David Beckham and Greg Norman
The duo claims that they came to an agreement with F45 Training regarding their services on how to grow the brand and help expand its reach through promotion. David’s deal amounted to an alleged $1.5m annually and company stock of some margin. For this Beckham performed photo shoots, had his social media posts about the gym, and several other acts in a private and public capacity.
F45 Training went public last year and it wasn’t a surprise for them as their valuation reportedly went up three times what it was valued at a couple of years ago. Yeah, that’s what you get when you sign an icon of the “world’s game” to do your bidding. As per a legal document which The Blast has a copy of, Norman and Beckham allege that F45 Training was incapable of paying them “substantial cash and equity compensation”, thus enforcing them to take the legal route.
F45 were on the other hand quite embarrassed and disappointed on learning about the lawsuit. They said – “F45 deeply values the relationships with all of its ambassadors, including Mr. Beckham, and does not believe this lawsuit has any bearing on, or is an accurate reflection of, F45’s relationship with Mr. Beckham”. What comes of this lawsuit and who will be the ultimate benefactor will be decided by the court in due time.
