“Lucky to have a relationship with him” – Bryson DeChambeau on playing alongside Donald Trump at LIV Golf

Donald Trump and Bryson DeChambeau
Popular American golfer Bryson DeChambeau shares a special bond with the former President of the United States of America Donald Trump. The relationship goes back a few years, so it wasn’t surprising to see the duo in the same group for Thursday’s LIV Golf Bedminster pro-am.
The eight-time PGA Tour champion DeChambeau went on to leap massive praises for the 45th American president as far as the sport is concerned. He further stated that it was an honour to play alongside him in the tournament.
“He’s actually a really good golfer. He stripes it down the middle of the fairway and has a good iron game and putts it pretty well,” said DeChambeau, who also noted he picked up a little course knowledge from Trump, as quoted by Golf Week. “But it was an honour. I mean, anytime you get to play with a president, whether passing or sitting, it’s just an honour, no matter who it is. Very lucky to have a relationship with him, and he’s always been generous to me.”

“Not understood by me but works every time”

The California native DeChambeau explained how when you have a perfect golf swing, it’s not the most repeatable. However, Mr Trump has a “quirky motion” that helps him.
“That’s the funny one he talks about all the time. You know, it’s true from what I’ve seen, what I’ve heard, obviously I haven’t played with other presidents, but he’s up there.
“It’s not understood by me, but it works every time,” said DeChambeau with a laugh.
Notably, the third tournament of LIV Golf that came to New York, has caused quite a stir with the public, especially amongst a group of 9/11 victim families who have spoken out about the backing from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. For those who missed, Trump praised Saudi Arabia for what they’re doing for golf while avoiding a 9/11 question ahead of his round.
