LIV Golfer Cameron Smith REJECTS idea of returning to PGA Tour following Rory McIlroy’s recent comment

Recently there has been a lot of talk going around regarding that players from LIV coming back to the PGA Tour. As Rory Mcllroy also said last week that LIV Golf stars should be welcomed back to the PGA Tour without any sanctions. But Australian professional golfer and current LIV member Cameron Smith has said that he is fine where he is.
Smith has made it clear that he has no intention of returning to the PGA Tour, despite McIlroy’s recent comments suggesting that LIV Golf players should be welcomed back. Smith, who has been one of the most high-profile defectors to the Saudi-backed series, is happy with his reduced schedule and increased paycheck at LIV Golf.
The discussion is still going on between the PGA Tour and Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF). Interestingly, there is a special part in this deal, that could see golfers from LIV be welcomed back to the American golf base.
Ahead of LIV Golf Las Vegas, in an interview with Daily Mail, the 2022 Open Champion said that he definitely doesn’t want to play anymore events and championships.

And talking upon views of the PGA Tour’s $3 billion deal with Strategic Sports Group (SSG), Smith claimed he is not at all surprised that much and is just focus on his game and trying to himself. “All of us here, we’re just trying to make this tour the best” Smith said.

At the current moment, the one thing that is on the mind of the golf fans is the merger. Several have been debating what will the outcome of this deal will be.
During this discussion, another point that has sparked up is the potential return of LIV Golfers to the PGA Tour. Many golfers have opined against this and Brandel Chamblee is no different.
The American former professional golfer and commentator has been a heavy critic of the LIV Golf and have slammed them time and again. He would recently take part in the ongoing discussion on X and replied to a question and claimed:
They should have to sit out for a period of time, Pay fines, and when they come back, support/play in only non-signature events for as long they played for LIV.

It now remains to be seen whether the LIV golfers will actually be welcomed back on the tour. The ongoing merger between the two tours could play a huge deciding factor on the decision to allow the defectors to come back and play on their previous tours.
