The controversy revolving around the existence of LIV Golf saw another development as Brandel Chamblee and Phil Mickelson got caught in a war of words on Twitter. Chamblee, the golf analyst has continued to berate the Saudi-backed league and its players. On Wednesday, he once again made a bold statement that sparked another talking point.
He took to his social and decided to land a heavy punch. He claimed that working with LIV was like agreeing to a partnership with a “murderous dictator“. He cited and attached a story from Politico, which explained the political ties between the Saudi officials and LIV Golf. The world of golf saw this development after Brooks Koepka, a LIV golfer, emerged as the winner at the PGA Championship.
Koepka’s victory at the Oak Hills County club left the world in shock. It turned out to be a huge moment as LIV Golf got the upper hand on their rival league. His win then started the discussion of whether LIV players should be allowed to take part in the Ryder Cup. Chamblee has time and again continued to belittle the league and claimed its only goal is to “sportswash” the legacy of golf.

The feud between Phil Mickelson and Brandel Chamblee reached a boiling point on Thursday. The former insisted he has got tired of the latter’s continuous attack on LIV Golf and him and claimed that he is ready to face him on another platform. This war of words between reached a certain point where Chamblee decided to block the golfer.
Chamblee words on Twitter promoted another point of discussion. The inclusion of LIV players in the Ryder Cup soon become the talking point after the performances of Koepka and other players. Chamblee wrote though his (Koepka) win was impressive enough, it should not distract from the fact that they are being used as a tool for some powerful people behind the scenes.
It is now a question of when rather than where these two will settle this dispute. It also remains to be seen whether Chamblee will even take any interest in speaking with Mickelson. One thing that is certain that LIV will not take this “murderous dictator” statement lightly. This development will likely spark more controversy and put damage the already worsening relationship between the two leagues.
