The recent news surrounding the LIV Series might not be the most positive at the moment, but things seems to be working out in their favour regardless. As the rumour mill takes on its typical cycle, next on the list of the LIV Series are two Camerons- Cameron Young and Cameron Smith. Both young golfers and on a rise in the golf world, this would certainly be a shock for the PGA Tour if they were to leave.

Cameron Young is currently world. no 17, and shocking is straight out of the PGA Casting Central. The PGA Rookie of the year has been linked to quite the rumours about joining the new Saudi backed circuit. Young has seven top-three finishes this season and was runner-up to Cameron Smith at St. Andrew’s last month in the 150th Open Championship. However, both golfers seem to be waiting to play the FedEx Cup playoffs, after which they are rumoured to join the Series.

While Young was linked to joining the Series, there has been an anonymous source who said that he will not be doing so. “He has been contacted by them, but at this point is very strongly inclined to remain on the PGA Tour,” the source said according to Golf Week. When asked about the switch to Young himself, he said very clearly- “My goal is to win the FedExCup play-offs, that’s what I’m here for,” he said.

“If there’s something I need to say regarding the PGA Tour or LIV it will come from Cameron Smith not Cameron Percy.” Players who are aligning with the LIV Tour are facing sanctions and suspensions by the PGA Tour, and therefore it is a huge risk to make the switch. However, the signing contracts, the new league format and the prize money is certainly a big incentive for any golfer to join the Series.
