Good things have to those who wait. Golfer Camilo Villegas had waited a long time for this moment. The Colombian golfer claimed his first PGA Tour victory in over nine years on Sunday as he won the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. This also turned out to be his first triumph since tragically losing his 22-month daughter to illness in 2020.
Villegas’ daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer and passed away at a young age. Such a massive loss became tough for Villegas to overcome as he struggled to greens. He failed to keep up the competition and finished at No. 654 last year. He though has found the way again and claimed his first tour title since 2014 in an emotional win.

"It's tough to put into words right now. Wow, what a ride... I love this game. This game has given me so many great things, and in the process, it kicks your butt. Life has given me so many great things and in the process, it kicks your butt, too".Camilo Villegas as per ESPN.
The 41-year-old had been grinding between the Korn Ferry Tour and the events on the PGA Tour. However, he would continue to come up short. His hard work was finally rewarded as he posted a score of 24-under 260 to finish two strokes ahead of Alex Noren. He and his friends would celebrate the win wildly which has seen going viral on social media. Check out his celebration below:
