Who were the winners at the inaugural LIV Golf Adelaide event?

A large section of fans have slammed and berated the Saudi-funded tour on several occasions. However, many fans did praise the efforts put into the LIV Golf Adelaide event. With the event now set to return, the winners have a chance to defend their crown, but who were the winners in the first place?

The victorious parties in the inaugural event were Talor Gooch and 4Aces GC. While the Dustin Johnson-led side won the team event, it was Talor Gooch who stole the show in the individual performance. The American international had a huge lead going into the final day but suffered a slump. He was able to hold off India’s Anirban Lahiri and claim his first LIV title finishing three strokes clear on top of the leaderboard.

Gooch would later continue his winning run and claim the LIV Singapore title, thus becoming the first player in the league’s history to win back-to-back LIV Golf titles. His performances led to him being named the individual champion of the 2023 season.

Gooch now has the chance to script more history and defend his crown in April. Before that, several changes are expected to take place in the league. With that being said, it will be interesting to see what changes next season.
