Over the years gone by, Former US President Donald Trump has time and again boasted about his golfing abilities. The 77-year-old has made his love for golf known to many by acquiring several golf courses and taking part in events. He was recently spotted playing some rounds at the Trump National Park and completely shanked the ball, leaving users wondering about his capabilities.
In the viral video making rounds on social media, the ex-leader was seen having quality time. After taking a couple of practice swings to ready himself, he blasted the shot well wide of the target. This moment was captured by some spectators and later shared the video online. After watching the video, many would think that maybe Trump is bluffing about his golfing abilities.
In 2022, LIV Golfer Bryson DeChambeau had praised the former US president for his style of play. “He’s actually a really good golfer,” DeChambeau said before adding how good Trump was in the LIV Bedminster tournament. The golfer claimed that the leader has good qualities for stripping it down the middle and putting the ball away.
Donald Trump set to take center stage in upcoming LIV events
Donald Trump has been a huge fan of golf and has been a constant supporter of LIV Golf. As the golfing community struggles to find its feet following the merger, Trump sought to have the last laugh. In 2022, he predicted that the PGA Tour will soon merge with the PIF-backed tour. His prediction turned out to be correct.
The billionaire has previously claimed to have a 2.8 handicap score. According to experts, this is an impressive feat that can rank him among the top players around the world. He though has not posted any scores since 2021 which had led to the question about its validity. Several people have also claimed that he cheated his way through to get that score.
While the debate regarding his score continues, Trump is set to have major plans this golfing season. He is stated to once again take part in the LIV Bedminster event which will be hosted at the Trump National Golf Club. His golf course in Florida, the Trump National Doral, will play host to the team championships final of the LIV Golf. The final was originally scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia but was later relocated to the United States.
