“Ad agency error”- DUI clip of Tiger Woods erroneously included in campaign video advocating DEATH PENALTY
A mistaken clip of Tiger Woods was added to Kris Kobach's election campaign video
There are occasions when you forget checking the presentation or creative your team has prepared for you right before the D-day and then boom, an embarrassing mistake happens right in front of everyone!
That’s precisely what happened to Kansas attorney general nominee Kris Kobach, who was releasing a campaign advertisement on Thursday advocating capital punishment for “cop killers” and “mass murderers” when a clip of Tiger Woods driving under the influence of alcohol back in 2017 surfaced on the screen.
“That was an ad agency error. We caught it and fixed it within minutes. What a happy accident that media is going to pick this up and expose Chris Mann as a soft-on-crime liberal Democrat who will let cop killers and mass murderers off easy for their heinous crimes,” Danedri Herbert, spokesperson for Kobach’s campaign, said.
A similar drunken driving incident turned into the dark night that changed everything for Tiger Woods in 2009
Despite having achieved almost everything in the world of golf, Tiger Woods has been through a lot in his personal life. The legendary golfer was the epitome of the American dream and living a plush life before the news of his extramarital affairs was made public, which also led to his divorce with then wife Elin Nordegren.
In November 2009, Woods crashed his SUV into a fire hydrant, and that was the incident that not just harmed him physically but also shattered his golden boy image. At the time, reports already talked about an affair between the golfer and a New York nightclub manager, and the accident confirmed it all in a rather tumultuous way.
The collision Woods made was so loud that it woke up Nordegren, who came running out and broke the car window of the SUV with a golf club to rescue her ex-husband.
After being released from hospital, Woods made a personal statement about the incident and the reports of his extramarital affairs on November 29, 2009.
“This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way, Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible. The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false,” Woods said at the time.
However, after more evidence was released in the form of voice messages and women revealing details of their escapades with Woods, he released another statement: “I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behaviour my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behaviour and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.”
