The term power couple is often used to describe a couple who are both successful in their respective fields. Throughout history there have been several power couples and one of them has been the duo of “DJ” Dustin Johnson and his wife Paulina Gretzky. The two have been happily married for over a year. However, the credit for the relationship goes to Paulina’s mother Janet Jones.
It all started in 2011 when Jones was paired up with a rookie DJ at the pro-am golf event hosted by the great Tiger Woods. Jones was invited due to being the wife of “the Great One” Wayne Gretzky. Upon being partnered with Johnson, Jones quickly realized this was the guy for her daughter. She later invited him to their house, having decided to become the playmaker.
Paulina mentioned to Golf Digest in 2014 how they started dating. As obvious as it would be, the duo did not start dating right away. “We exchanged numbers and here we are,” Paulina said back during the day. Johnson would recall the same story and mentioned how he had been in contact with the NHL great before. DJ explained how the duo stayed as friends for three years before they took the next step.

The love story of Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky has become famous over the years. The golfer and singer-turned-model are parents of two. In the year 2022, after several years of dating and parenting, they decided to officially tie the knot. In every story, there are some faults, as no one is perfect. The story of this two also had their issues but like a power couple, they got through it together.
The first instance of their relationship breaking away came back in 2014. Reports had emerged that DJ had taken a personal leave due to constant usage of drugs including cocaine. Wayne Gretzky later handed him an ultimatum, either get rid of his addiction or forget Paulina. Johnson was able to put his personal demons beside him later on.
The second big test in their beautiful relationship came back in 2018. Various rumors and speculations regarding Johnson’s affair with woman Yassie Safai surfaced. Paulina would go on to delete every image of the couple from her social media handles. Safai would deny all such talks and allegations and claimed she had known him. Johnson himself released a statement to address the situation.
After this rough patch, the couple were seen attending a live concert. This signaled that the tensions between the two have been evaporated. The couple were recently seen partying hard and playing golf on Johnson’s birthday. They might have a rough past but the future certainly looks bright for the couple.
