The Ryder Cup is a dream for all golf enthusiasts who long to compete in it and proudly represent their homeland. Only a small number of people get to experience the pride and love for one’s country. The European team will announce the names of its 12 players in the first week of September, while the American team has already decided on its roster.

As expected, this ultimately leads to people talking and guessing. And who is a better person to lead it than Paige Spiranac, also known as Golf Mommy? Everyone in the golf community is extremely excited about the upcoming Ryder Cup. Even though he faced many challenges, professional golfer Brooks Koepka managed to make it onto the team.

In a recent podcast discussion, Paige and her guest, who used to play professional golf, started talking about these choices right away. They talked about whether LIV Golf was unfairly treated in the selection process. And that’s what everyone else who plays golf is also wondering. “Playing a Round with Paige,” the appealing golfer’s podcast, commenced on Wednesday as she welcomed golf commentator Colt Knost to engage in a conversation.

They talked about why one player was chosen instead of another and considered many theories that people who follow golf have. One reason is that Bryson DeChambeau was not selected, while Justin Thomas was eliminated.

Colt Knost responded to the mission of DeChambeau

Zach Johnson’s words regarding the recent omission of DeChambeau lingered in Paige’s thoughts. “I witnessed Zach Johnson speaking on your show,” she informed Knost. He admitted lacking knowledge about him, as he doesn’t have the chance to watch him play frequently. However, considering players like Justin Thomas who didn’t qualify for the playoffs but have been active, is it unjust to draw comparisons since we cannot witness their gameplay?

Wondering if team camaraderie played a role, the golf mommy questions Johnson’s selection of Thomas. Knost presumed that the golfers from “LIV” were aware that by opting for their event, they were sacrificing the chance to participate in the Ryder Cup. Furthermore, he pointed out that Zach competed professionally as a golfer on the PGA Tour. It’s fine if he doesn’t make a special attempt to witness LIV golfers playing.

When discussing Bryson DeChambeau’s exclusion from the team, a former professional golfer on the PGA Tour noted, “Bryson showcased excellent skills during the Greenbrier tournament. With a score of 58 in the golf tournament, I reckon he ended up in fourth place in the PGA. But besides that, it hasn’t been good. I might be wrong, but in my view, his performance has declined ever since he began frequenting LIV.”

To earn Ryder Cup points, LIV players could only compete in the major tournaments. Koepka finally earned a captain’s selection thanks to his T2 finish at the Masters and win at the PGA Championship, which enabled him to move up to seventh place. Contrarily, DeChambeau placed 54th and will not participate in the Rome tournament. The scientist, however, was nothing but kind in the face of that tragedy, although many admirers were outraged about it.
