The newly inaugurated LIV Golf series has caused quite the tension in the golf world, leaving a lot of controversy. As many golfers are slowly making the switch from the PGA Tour to LIV Series, several people have their ideas and opinions as to what to make of this split that the golf world seems to be experiencing. The latest addition to the LIV Series is former world no. 1, Brooks Koepka and Abraham Ancer.
Greg Norman, the CEO of the LIV Series has praised Koepka after making the switch. The four time Major winner is expected to join the Series at the second event in Portland next week. While he did compete at the US Open, he has gone ahead and announced his withdrawal from the next PGA Tour event, the Travelers Championship. Norman maintained that Koepka was one of the most elite players in the golf world.

“There’s no understating the impact that Brooks Koepka has had on the game of golf in the last five years. He carries a championship pedigree and record of success as one of the most elite players in the world. “The addition of Brooks is yet another example of the incredible fields LIV Golf is assembling as we build momentum in our first season and look towards the future,“ said Norman according to mirror.co.uk.
Koepka’s move came just days after the American admitted that he was not giving much thought to switching Series. “I am just trying to focus on the US Open man. I am tired of all these conversations, I am tired of all this stuff,” said Koepka in frustration last week. While he continued to avoid the questions at the US Open, his move was soon confirmed.
