The two rivals were seen pairing together once for the 2004 Ryders Cup. However, the result was not as fruitful as everyone would expect it to be. The USA team suffered heavy repercussions that year and faced a crushing defeat to the European team.
Speaking of the bond between Amy Mickelson and Lindsey Vonn, the incident was recorded at the Presidents Cup 2013. While moving around the golf field in Village Golf Club, Dublin, Ohio, Vonn faced a perplexing situation as her cart got stuck going uphill. Amy Mickelson was the unexpected help who came to Vonn’s rescue then.
Amy Mickelson helped push Lindsey Vonn’s cart up the hill, thus assisting her in the navigation of the course. Vonn later thanked Amy for her selfless and impeccable gesture. While their husbands were trying to edge each other out in the field, their partners had already formed a good bond with each other during that tournament.
The unfortunate part is that while Phil and Amy have been married for 26 years, Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn decided to break up in 2015 mutually. The couple cited their hectic schedule and differences as the reason behind their split.
While the two players might be the fiercest rivals and critics of each other, it does not mean that they do not have respect for their counterparts. For example, Phil Mickelson had once overtly expressed his immense respect for Tiger Woods, despite him being his arch-rival.
