John Daly is a talent in himself and to be very honest, guys like those aren’t made these days. Daly is definitely one of – ‘what might have been’ stories. One can only wonder what would be the case if John had just a tinge of discipline and self-realization. History books certainly would have written his name in gold.

John has won the major championship twice on the PGA Tour and loves to live his life freestyle; without a hint of stress in the world. Daly has been cramming down himself with beers, whisky, cokes, cigars, and whatnot. The guy practically lived off those fast-food chains like KFC and McDonald’s and won golf events for fun. Yeah, that’s the sheer brilliance of John Daly for you.

Life happened for John Daly as it does for everyone. He is not the phenomenon that he once was during the late 90s and early 2000s but he still is capable of surprising us every now and then with his amazing skill set.

John Daly played golf when drunk, and surprisingly it turned out the best golf he ever played

In an interview with Graham Bensinger back in 2016 John told that his best golf came when he was not sober. According to Daly, his superb golf play and records happened when he was drunk to his eyes, without clothes and shoes. He said – “I wouldn’t sober up until the 13th hole.”

There were even times when John went on to play at the PGA Tour events directly from the party venue where he generally used to drink and smoke all night long. He states – “I could drink, probably a case to 35 beers a day, or 40… Easily, yeah”. Looks like Daly possessed serious drinking skills and definitely knew how to hold his liquor.

Daly recently released his second album with the cover title – “Whiskey & Water.” John Daly is a jack of all trades as it seems and on top of it, he has Jack Daniel’s as his “old-time buddy”, he says. John told – “We’ve been friends forever. I know “Whiskey and Water” is going to be played on the radio… because Willie’s on it. An interesting character this John Daly, but when it comes to golf, one will always wonder what could have happened if this man took the sport seriously.
